What is the American Corner?

There are over 300 American Corners all over the world. They provide access to current and reliable information about the U.S. via book collections, the Internet, and through a variety of events such as public readings, films, speaker programs, workshops, meetings, and exhibits. An American Corner serves as an information outpost similar to a public library. The multi-media, book and periodical collections are open and accessible.

The American Corner in Kragujevac is a unique partnership between the American Embassy in Belgrade, municipality of Kragujevac and public library 'Vuk Karadžić', making information about the United States available to visitors.

It's more than just a library

Each Corner is much more than just a collection of media and equipment. Corners attract users through programs and activities that include lectures, film showings, tours, exhibits, conferences, seminars, workshops, discussion clubs, English-language classes, TOEFL tests, holiday celebrations, and more.
